about

Since our Knoxville beginnings in 1942, Ladies of Charity (LOC) Knoxville has consistently addressed the immediate and emergency needs of the underserved, unemployed and underemployed people in the Knoxville area, regardless of race, creed, color, or country of origin.

Ladies of Charity of Knoxville's programs are designed to support our community comprehensively. Our services include: providing food, clothing, newborn layettes, new housing/apt startup kits, personal care and hygiene items and kerosene for heating fuel; providing financial assistance for medication, utilities, and rent. These offerings are available Monday-Friday and our clients’ needs are skillfully and compassionately discerned by our Emergency Assistance Program (EAP) interviewers and EAP Manager.

We rely heavily upon our wonderful volunteers who support our Emergency Assistance Pantry and Thrift store daily to serve the needs of the community.
